A Jolly Holiday 2025

Branding & Event Design

GRAPHIC DESIGNERS: Jason Dillon, Lorelei Samuel, Jaime Perdomo
ART DIRECTOR: Melanie Lapovich
EVENT ART DIRECTOR: Troy Ertel

This year, Disney's annual holiday party for its Cast Members and D23 Gold Members, A JOLLY HOLIDAY, was expanded from an event solely taking place at the Walt Disney Studio Lot to a bicoastal affair that included our employees in NYC at the newly-opened 7 Hudson Square building.

Event Branding

I lifted the branding from last year's event, adding snow to the wreath and including Toy Story characters to celebrate the film's 30th anniversary. Once this was approved, I created three other versions that could be used in specific cases to differentiate between the Cast Member-specific events in California or New York, or the D23-only version.

Event Design

Once the event's branding was done, we were able to begin the fun part! Lorelei, Melanie, Troy and I worked with our event producer, Adam, on the tremendous task of decking out the lot.

I got to contribute heavily to this stage of the project as well, creating a total of 57 signs, the front of DJ Clark's booth, a character backdrop for Woody and Jessie, wristbands, 6 marketing assets, a credential, and even a tree ornament, some of which are pictured below. In New York, I created 3 holding screens to be used around the building and a tote bag for Cast Members to collect their crafts and goodies in.

How We Got Here

With every project, the process is always the most important part. The successes, failures, twists and turns are all important learning lessons that make a project the best it can be.

This project was relatively straightforward since we were lifting the previous year's branding, but it still took time to work with our partners at Pixar to determine which characters and elements of the franchise they were looking to prioritize.
